Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Me standard measure of the val. of final goods and sennces produced by a country during a per. GDP is the most common used indicator to compare economic performance across countries or relatively to other data It combines in a single figure all the production (also called output) cam. out by all the firms Me non-prfit institutions, govemment bodies a. households in a given country during a given period, regardless the type of goods and serviceses produced, provided that the production takes place in the country's economic territory. Though it is a good indicator to capture production, it is not a good measure of societies' well-being. Unit of measure used:

Australien Dollar, Millions

In national currency, in current prices and constant prices (national base year, previous year Prices and OECD base year i.e. 2010). For comparative purposes In US$ current prices and constant prices, using exchange rate and for the GDP by expenditures (in absence of specific PPP series) GDP PPPs for all series except actual individual consumption where a specific PPP is used. Expressed in millions and in indices. For the Euro area countries, the data national currency for all years are calculated using the fixed conversion rates against the euro.

Unit of measure used

The units used to present data in AFA are millions of national currency for monetary variables and units for the other variables. Monetary variables are in current prices. Euro-area countries: national currency data is expressed in euro beginning with the year of entry into the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). For years prior to the year of entry into EMU, data have been converted from the former national currency using the appropriate irrevocable conversion rate. This presentation facilitates comparisons within a country over time and ensures that the historical evolution is preserved. Please note, however, that pre-EMU euro are a notional unit and should not be used to form area aggregates or to carry out cross-country comparisons.
